The Wine and Flavours Route
from Lake Garda
to the Brenta Dolomites
A
fascinating itinerary that goes from a Mediterranean
environment to a typically alpine one. Only thirty-five
kilometres as the crow flies. Actually, in an altitude
gain of almost four thousand metres, this part of the territory
encompasses one of the richest and most varied agricultural
and food worlds of Trentino. The journey along the Wine and
Flavours Route from Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites
begins in the Mediterranean microclimate of Garda where a
precious extra virgin olive oil is produced. A little farther north,
in the Valle dei Laghi, Vino Santo, Rebo and Nosiola wines and
traditionally distilled grappa are made. A taste of Carne Salada,
a speciality of the area between Arco, Tenno and Varone, and
the characteristic Ciuìga in Valle Giudicarie should not be
missed. The Storo maize flour and Spressa cheese are two
other good reasons for exploring this attractive area of
Trentino.
