The Wine and Flavours Route<br />

from Lake Garda<br />

to the Brenta Dolomites<br />

A<br />

fascinating itinerary that goes from a Mediterranean<br />

environment to a typically alpine one. Only thirty-five<br />

kilometres as the crow flies. Actually, in an altitude<br />

gain of almost four thousand metres, this part of the territory<br />

encompasses one of the richest and most varied agricultural<br />

and food worlds of <strong>Trentino</strong>. The journey along the Wine and<br />

Flavours Route from Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites<br />

begins in the Mediterranean microclimate of Garda where a<br />

precious extra virgin olive oil is produced. A little farther north,<br />

in the Valle dei Laghi, Vino Santo, Rebo and Nosiola wines and<br />

traditionally distilled grappa are made. A taste of Carne Salada,<br />

a speciality of the area between Arco, Tenno and Varone, and<br />

the characteristic Ciuìga in Valle Giudicarie should not be<br />

missed. The Storo maize flour and Spressa cheese are two<br />

other good reasons for exploring this attractive area of<br />

<strong>Trentino</strong>.<br />
