VIDEO EDITING AND SPECIAL EFFECTS $129<br />

If you want to learn to develop and edit a digital movie then this<br />

class is for you. You will learn to add background sounds and music,<br />

special effects, text, cut unwanted movie clips, merge movie clips,<br />

add pictures and upload a movie to YouTube for friends and family<br />

to view. Pre-Req: Computer Basics or equivalent. $20 materials fee<br />

The hands-on course is designed for students wanting to learn the<br />

basic elements of creating a 2D game using a GameMaker software.<br />

rooms. PreReq: Computer Basics or equivalent. $20 materials fee<br />

Learn the basics of Java programming to build simple games. You<br />

will learn to use variables, expressions, flow control, loops and<br />

more to develop an application! This is an excellent introductory<br />

course to programming if you are planning to take an AP course<br />

in Computer Science, build a career in software development<br />

or become a game programmer—one of the hottest career fields<br />

today. Pre-req: Create 2D Games or equivalent. $20 materials fee<br />

INTERMEDIATE (AGES 10-18)<br />

Once you’ve mastered the basics of Java Programming, then<br />

you’re ready to learn some of the tougher object-oriented concepts<br />

including objects, method overloading, constructors, destructors,<br />

and polymorphism. You will also learn to use array, strings,<br />

pointers, dynamic data, and more to develop interactive game.<br />

This course is also good for high school students planning to take<br />

an AP course in Computer Science or become a game programmer.<br />

Prerequisite: Programming with Java Basic or equivalent. $20<br />

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), organize the Website content,<br />

develop color schemes, add graphics links, insert multimedia<br />

elements, and more. Pre-req: Computer Basic or equivalent. $20<br />

WITH JAVASCRIPT (AGES 10-18)<br />

Enhance your website by adding dynamics and interactive<br />

features using JavaScript components such as attributes, variables,<br />

expressions, functions, objects, methods, animated mouse, drop<br />

down menu, alert messages, perform calculations, validate data<br />

in the forms, add interactive games, add special effects to the<br />

images and text, customize graphics selections, dynamically<br />

modify color, image and text and more. Pre-req: Website Design<br />

or equivalent. There is a $20 materials fee payable at the first class.<br />

SAFETY<br />

CPR/AED: Adult, Child and Infant $25<br />

(Ages 10+)<br />

The ability to perform CPR properly is a lifesaving skill that<br />

everyone could benefit from learning. This American Safety and<br />

Health Institute (ASHI) course is OSHA approved and covers<br />

CPR and the Heimlich maneuver for adults, children and infants.<br />

Participants will also learn how to use an AED (Automatic External<br />

Defibrillator). In addition, each participant will have his/her own<br />

two mannequins on which to practice. Participants will receive a<br />

certification card which is valid for two years. Participants must<br />

bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope and pen or pencil. $13<br />

materials fee will be collected in class. Not a healthcare provider<br />
