Chris Dietrich is a PhD candidate in the Department <strong>of</strong><br />

History at the University <strong>of</strong> Texas at Austin and a Smith<br />

Richardson Predoctoral Fellow at Yale International<br />

Security <strong>Studies</strong>. His dissertation, "The Permanence <strong>of</strong><br />

Power," is on the causes and consequences <strong>of</strong> the 1970s<br />

energy crisis.<br />

Wilhelmina Donkoh<br />

Dr. Wilhelmina J. Donkoh was educated at the Kwame<br />

Nkrumah University <strong>of</strong> Science and Technology, Kumasi,<br />

Ghana, and the University <strong>of</strong> Birmingham, UK. She is a<br />

Senior Lecturer in History and Head <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong><br />

History and Political <strong>Studies</strong> at the Kwame Nkrumah<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.<br />

She has extensive experience in teaching, research, and<br />

writing. Her research interests include Asante history,<br />

culture and development, social history, institutional<br />
