Hetty ter Haar<br />

Hetty ter Haar received her BA (Hons) History (1983)<br />

from the London School <strong>of</strong> Economics and Political<br />

Science and is an independent scholar in England. She is<br />

co-editor <strong>of</strong> Narrating War and Peace in Africa (University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Rochester Press, 2010).<br />

Yafet Tewelde<br />

Yafet is currently doing his PhD in the Department <strong>of</strong><br />

Social and Political Thought at York University where he is<br />

researching the history <strong>of</strong> the Black Canadian Civil Rights<br />

Movement. He will be focusing on the role <strong>of</strong> policing and<br />

in infiltrating this movement. He is also a Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />

Humanities at Humber Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology and<br />

Advanced Learning. He is the Founder and President <strong>of</strong><br />

the Black Scholastic Society, which was created to build<br />

better Black scholars and is also the Chairman for the<br />

Neighbourhood Basketball Association, which is charitable<br />

organization that uses basketball as a means to reach<br />

high-risk youth and cultivate potential on and <strong>of</strong>f the<br />

court.<br />

Mamadou Sy Tounkara<br />

Mamadou Sy Tounkara is the Director <strong>of</strong> the Ecole<br />

Supérieure des Sciences Politiques et Relations<br />

Internationales in Dakar, Senegal.<br />
