Rhonda M. Gonzales is an Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the<br />
History Department at the University <strong>of</strong> Texas, San<br />
Antonio.<br />
Benjamin Kumai Gugong<br />
Benjamin Kumai Gugong is a lecturer in the Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Accounting, Kaduna State University, Kaduna, Nigeria.<br />
He is a PhD student <strong>of</strong> Accounting and Finance in the<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> Economics and Management Sciences,<br />
Nigerian Defence Academic (NDA), Kaduna, Nigeria. His<br />
area <strong>of</strong> interest borders on Rural Development, Poverty<br />
Alleviation, and Participatory Budgeting in the public<br />
sector. He is involved in youth activities. He is currently<br />
the Chairman, Academic Staff Union <strong>of</strong> Universities<br />
(ASUU) Kaduna State University Chapter, and the<br />
Chairman, National Youth Council <strong>of</strong> Nigeria, Kaura<br />
Chapter, Kaduna State. He is happily married to Angela<br />
and blessed with two kids, Bobai & Jenchat.<br />
Matthew Heaton<br />
Matthew M. Heaton is an assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor in the<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> History at Virginia Tech, where he teaches<br />
courses in <strong>African</strong> and Global History. His research<br />
focuses on intersections <strong>of</strong> nationalism, globalization, and<br />
health in Nigeria. He is the co-editor <strong>of</strong> several volumes<br />
