Enabling Change Management
Change management logs let you track the following information:
•
Changes made to the client computers on your network
Computers from which the changes were made
Accounts that initiated the changes
You can choose to write these logs to a local log on the server running the JSS or a Syslog server.
The header for each logged event includes the following information:
Timestamp (when the event took place)
User name of the account that initiated the change
• IP address of the client computer that triggered the event
JSS identifier (com.jamfsoftware.jss)

The instructions in this section explain how to set up and modify change management to a log file and a
Syslog server.
To set up or modify change management to a log file:
1. Log in to the JSS with a web browser.
2. Click the Settings tab.
3. Click the General Settings link.
4. Click the Change Management tab.
5. Select the Enable Change Management checkbox if it is not already selected, and specify a directory
location for the log file.
