For the past 16 years Colin has been running his own business as
an independent workforce development consultant. He has worked
on a wide range of projects with public, private and third sector
organisations and enjoy the variety and challenge this brings. In
recent years, I have particularly specialised in the research and
development of employment-related guidance, policy, strategy
documents and competency frameworks.
Three key achievements
- Leading the development of national occupational standards for
Civil Contingencies
- Developing a qualifications strategy for the justice sector
- Developing a ‘staff development toolkit’ for managers of substance
misuse services across the UK
Professional interests
The management and development of people in organisations,
project management, innovation and enterprise. Looking to the
future, I am interested in the challenges and opportunities for
organisations adapting to a low-carbon economy and the role of third
sector organisations delivering services in the community.
Career aspirations
Through the MBA, I aim to broaden and deepen my knowledge and
skills in management and leadership, possibly leading to a change in
career direction or a new business opportunity.
