<strong>Kettering</strong> <strong>University</strong> Campus Safety is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year providing around-the-clock protection and<br />
services to the campus community. The department is staffed by seventeen people. Campus Safety Officers do not make arrests. The<br />
following services are provided by <strong>Kettering</strong>’s Safety Staff:<br />
• Crime prevention<br />
• Investigate complaints and crimes<br />
• Central headquarters in event of an emergency<br />
• General patrol of the <strong>Kettering</strong> campus<br />
• Information and central communication center<br />
• Security of buildings<br />
• Check for safety and fire hazards<br />
• Register student and employee vehicles<br />
• Routine check of all fire prevention equipment on campus<br />
• Lost and found<br />
• Identification of your valuables<br />
• An escort service to the parking area for a student or employee leaving a campus building alone at night<br />
• When a number of similar crimes occur on campus, Campus Safety issues an e-mail alert to all students, faculty and<br />
staff calling attention to the incident.<br />
• A monthly summary of campus safety activity is published on Blackboard.<br />
• Enforce parking regulations<br />
As an added measure of security, two Flint Police Officers patrol the campus and the surrounding neighborhood.
