Two races were sailed on
the final day of the
championship. The heat
persisted – not only in the
atmosphere but on the race
course. David Carlson and
Sam Chute, M-8, got off to
a fast start, winning race
#5. Mike Hanson and
Anders Ekholm, M-99, got
back on track after a couple
of “so-so” races with a
second. Paul Connolly and
Ian Solum, M-17, sailed
their best race of the series,
posting a trey. Joe and
Charlie stayed close to the
front with a four.
Joe and Charlie
Kutschenreuter put an
exclamation point on a fine
series, taking the gun in the
final race. Peter and Brian
Studer sailed hard to get
the second place that would
put them in second overall.
Ryan and Steven Sacotte,
A-3, helped themselves
with a third.
The B-3 took the Senior
Fleet Championship with
17 points to spare. Peter
and Brian Studer finished a
fabulous second overall.
Alex DeGuire and
Samantha Kultgen sailed
the regatta of their life for
third place honors. Ryan
and Steven Sacotte were a
very proud fourth. Alex
and Natalie Kay sailed an
extremely consistent series
to be fifth. Shannon and
Bridget Smith, E-66, were
the proud recipients of the
Margaret Washburn Hunt
Trophy as the top female
skipper.
The Battle of the Threes! Ryan Sacotte, A-3, Alex Kay,
E-3, and Joe Kutsch, B-3 are sailing hard and closely.
