copy of the report, as amended in the Library, on the Sechelt website and at the
municipal office reception counter for public inspection.

That staff provide recommendations to Council for meetings at the UBCM convention
based on Council’s Strategic Priorities and consider requesting meetings in conjunction
with other local governments on the Sunshine Coast on topics of mutual concern.

In discussion of the requests for a Cat Regulation Bylaw, it was noted that:
other communities have “Pet Regulation” Bylaws that regulate pets other than
dogs;
cats can create issues in neighbourhoods including damage to gardens and
plantings and attraction of predators such as coyotes and cougars into residential
areas;
development and enforcement of a bylaw regulating cats may be onerous on
staff resources;
there are other priority items that Council is requesting staff address;
licencing of cats and other pets (besides dogs) could bring in revenue and help
protect these pets be providing a means to identify and reunite lost pets with their
owners;
