applicants must provide a biography for presentation to Council;
a list of applicants will be ready for submission to the Council meeting on
July 4, 2012.
Needs Assessment
Councillor Siegers distributed a questionnaire to members.
In discussion it was noted that:
the questionnaire is for Users and Operators of Venues to help identify needs
within the arts community;
the Task Force is aware of the need for a new library and rehearsal space. Other
needs of the community need to be identified;
the Needs Assessment will be completed by the end of the year;
if warranted, a feasibility study will be done in 2013.
Task Force Reports
Reports were displayed for members to view.
In discussion it was noted that:
the reports were written and produced by Task Force volunteers in 2009;
there are questions as to who owns the rights to the reports and if members can
distribute;
Graham Argyle had a large part in the writing of the reports and he will be
contacted to determine the ownership of rights for the reports;
there are large presentation laminates that were created in 2009, Jane will
provide them to the District of Sechelt;
Siohban Smith, the District Arts Coordinator, should be a member of the Task
Force;
there was a question whether the Task Force had a budget in 2009, Emanuel will
look into the availability of funds;
the reports need updating if they are to be used in future.
NEXT MEETING
The Task Force is defunct until members are appointed by Council.
