<strong>of</strong> Government taking action to guarantee that,moneys subscribed by the public to relief<br />
funds should be expended on the purposes for whidli they were subser'ibed .-Point <strong>of</strong><br />

Adjournment moved (Captain Toombs), under 49th Standing Order . to discuss the expediency,<br />
in this suprem ė crisis, <strong>of</strong> the Government making representation to, the Red Cross Society<br />
that Mrs .'Gordon V%'es6he should eliminate herself from its operations and funds until she<br />
has been vindicated against alleged gross pro-German statements on the death <strong>of</strong> Nurse<br />
Cavell, the accuracy <strong>of</strong> which the Sunday Times newspaper reaffirms, and invites her. to<br />
test before the only authority in existence that can impartially'determine where the truth<br />
lies, namely, a court <strong>of</strong> law,-Point <strong>of</strong> Order-That this was not a matter <strong>of</strong> urgent public<br />
im]pOrtance, and was not in any way under the control <strong>of</strong> the Government, Arid was not<br />
amenable to any one <strong>of</strong> the Public Departments .-Overruled by Mr. Speaker, 230.<br />
