In support of Ch<strong>in</strong>a’s strategy <strong>in</strong><br />
western development, <strong>PolyU</strong> and<br />
Xi’an Jiaotong <strong>University</strong> established<br />
Xi’an Tongli International College<br />
(<strong>PolyU</strong> Xi’an Outpost) <strong>in</strong> 2002, with<br />
a mission to nurture talents required<br />
by ma<strong>in</strong>land society. With the support<br />
from the Academic Degree Committee<br />
of the State Council, M<strong>in</strong>istry<br />
of Education and the Education<br />
Department of Shaanxi Prov<strong>in</strong>ce,<br />
the two universities jo<strong>in</strong>tly launched<br />
two master’s programmes and one<br />
bachelor ’s programme at the Xi’an<br />
Centre. In terms of the number of<br />
approved programmes be<strong>in</strong>g serviced,<br />
the Centre ranks second amongst all<br />
<strong>PolyU</strong> outposts. It provides the best<br />
facilities and comprehensive services<br />
to the students.
