he collaborative relationship<br />
between <strong>PolyU</strong> and the ma<strong>in</strong>land<br />
does not limit to higher education.<br />
In 2008 when Ch<strong>in</strong>a organizes the<br />
Olympics and the Paralympics, <strong>PolyU</strong><br />
was designated by the Science and<br />
Education Department (SED) of the<br />
Ch<strong>in</strong>ese Olympic Committee (COC) as<br />
a collaborative research partner for the<br />
2008 Beij<strong>in</strong>g Olympics, demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>PolyU</strong>’s valued contribution <strong>in</strong> the<br />
scope of sports and health promotion.<br />
<strong>PolyU</strong>’s teach<strong>in</strong>g staff and students<br />
were proud to be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> this event<br />
that took the world’s attention. In<br />
addition, <strong>PolyU</strong> was made the official<br />
research-and-technology-development<br />
partner and the official rehabilitation<br />
unit of the Ch<strong>in</strong>ese W<strong>in</strong>ter Sports<br />
Adm<strong>in</strong>istrative Center, aim<strong>in</strong>g to<br />
provide comprehensive physical<br />
therapy service to Ch<strong>in</strong>ese athletes<br />
compet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the W<strong>in</strong>ter Olympics.
