MANURE from housed LIVESTOCK that does not flow<br />
under gravity, cannot be pumped but can be stacked in a<br />
heap. May include MANURE from cattle, pigs, poultry,<br />
horses, sheep, goats and rabbits. There are several different<br />
types <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> SOLID MANURE arising from different types <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
<strong>livestock</strong> housing, <strong>manure</strong> storage and treatment.<br />
FAECES and URINE mixed with large amounts <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> BEDDING<br />
(usually straw) <strong>on</strong> the floors <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> cattle or pig housing. May<br />
also include horse or STABLE MANURE.<br />
Faeces or droppings and urine mixed with large amounts <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
BEDDING (e.g. straw, sawdust, wood shavings) <strong>on</strong> the<br />
floors <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> buildings housing any type <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> LIVESTOCK or<br />
POULTRY.<br />

FRACTION include:<br />
• Solid remaining (mainly straw BEDDING and<br />
FAECES) following the drainage or seepage <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />
LIQUID FRACTION from CATTLE bedded <strong>on</strong> straw<br />
<strong>on</strong> a sloping floor e.g. in TIED or TETHER STALLS.<br />
• Solids or fibrous material derived from the<br />
MECHANICAL SEPARATION <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> SLURRY<br />
MANURE from housed LIVESTOCK that cannot be pumped<br />
or stacked in a heap.<br />
Mixture that may c<strong>on</strong>tain FAECES, URINE, waste FEED,<br />
water from cleaning a HARDSTANDING by mechanical<br />
means (e.g. with a tractor mounted or hand-held<br />
SCRAPER); can be liquid or semi-solid.<br />
SOLID MANURE immediately after removal from the<br />
LIVESTOCK housing.<br />
