<strong>SECTION</strong> H - SPECIAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS<br />

H.1. OPTIONS<br />

a. Unless the Government exercises its options pursuant to the options clause for<br />

Options 1, 2, 3 and 4 described in section B, the contract consists only of one 12<br />

month base year of the Statement of Work as defined in Sections C and F of this<br />

contract period. Pursuant to clause 52.217-9 set forth in paragraph b., below, the<br />

Government may, by contract modification, require the Contractor to perform<br />

Years 2, 3,4 and 5 of the Statement of Work as also defined in Sections C and F<br />

of this contract. If the Government exercises these options, notice must be given<br />

at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of this contract and the estimated cost<br />

of the contract will be increased as set forth in Section B.<br />

b. 52.217-9, OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT<br />

(MARCH 2000)<br />

(a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the<br />

Contractor for up to (Insert Number of Option Years at Time of Award)<br />

additional years, provided that the Government shall give the Contractor a<br />

preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 30 days before the<br />

contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an<br />

extension.<br />

(b)If the Government exercises these options, the extended contract shall be<br />

considered to include this option provision.<br />

(c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under<br />

this clause, shall not exceed five years.<br />

c. 52.217-8, OPTION TO EXTEND <strong>SERVICES</strong> (NOV 1999)<br />

The Government may require continued performance of any services within the<br />

limits and at the rates specified in the contract. These rates may be adjusted only<br />

as a result of revisions to prevailing labor rates provided by the Secretary of<br />

Labor. The option provision may be exercised more than once, but the total<br />

extension of performance hereunder shall not exceed 6 months. The Contracting<br />

Officer may exercise the option by written notice to the Contractor within the<br />

period specified in the Schedule.<br />

H.2. PERF<strong>OR</strong>MANCE BASED CONTRACT PLAN<br />

a. Introduction<br />

This is a performance-based contract oriented toward outcomes and products. As<br />

such, it gives the contractor the liberty to propose creative solutions and conceive<br />

new or alternative methods to achieve the Government’s objectives.<br />

Management of the award fee and performance objectives is discussed in detail<br />

below. As an additional incentive option years for the continuation of this<br />

contract will only be awarded with continued acceptable performance<br />

(Satisfactory or better).<br />
