Office of Nuclear and Nation al Security Information (ONNSI) T raining<br />

Courses: Over the next 3 months, ONNSI will conduct several courses to nain<br />

DOE and otber-agency classifiers, dec1assifiers, and security specialists. Courses<br />

for DOE personnel include the Derivative Classifiers Course on January 23 and<br />

March 13 in Germantown, MD and the Derivative Declassifiers Course on<br />

February 21 -22 in Germantown, MD. Additionally, a 13-week Intermediate<br />

Document ReviewerslNational Security Information (NSI) Reviewers Course will<br />

start on January 22 and run through the finit week ofApril. Individuals who will<br />

be certified as NSI reviewers only attend the [lfst 7 weeks ofthe course and will<br />

graduate on March 19. ONNSI personnel will also conduct the following training<br />

for other agencies: the Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers Course<br />

during the week of February 12·16 for other-agency reviewers at the National<br />

Archives and Records Administration in College Park, MD, and a Classification<br />

ofAtomic Energy Infonnation Briefing to attendees of a Department of Defense<br />

Security Specialist class on February 14 in linthicum, MD. More information<br />

Approval and Release of Restricted Data Declassification Decisions (RDD-7):<br />

<strong>The</strong> DOE publishes the RDD series as part of its continuing commitment to<br />

responsible openness. This ~ edition ofthe document, first published in 1994,<br />

contains 11 new declassifications made since December 10, 1999. Ofparticular<br />

note is a new appendix listing some 99 bydronuclear experiments conducted by<br />

the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory at the Nevada Test Site between<br />

1954 and 1966. RDD-7 is unclassified and approved for public release. <strong>The</strong><br />

document is currently being printed. Distribution will occur over the next several<br />

weeks. As in the past, the document will be placed on the DOE website (DOE<br />

OpeoNet) for public accessibility.<br />
