of Water Resources vide the letter no. 408 dated 15.4.<strong>20</strong>11 for abstraction<br />

of 1<strong>05</strong> KLD of groundwater.<br />

5. About 60.627 KLD of wastewater will be generated, which will be treated in<br />

a STP of capacity 73 KLD. After treatment, about 54.564 KLD of treated<br />

wastewater will be generated from the STP, out of which <strong>20</strong>.374 KLD will<br />

be used for flushing purpose and remaining 34.19 KLD will be used for<br />

horticulture purpose.<br />

6. About 304.80 Kg/day of solid waste will be generated, which will be<br />

segregated at source. The bio-degradable component of the waste will be<br />

sent to composting plant and non bio-degradable part will be sold out.<br />

7. The case was considered by the SEAC in its 46 th held on 24.4.<strong>20</strong>11 and<br />

observed that the project proponent has provided adequate and<br />

satisfactory clarifications of the observations raised by it, therefore, the<br />

Committee awarded 'Silver Grading' to the project proposal and decided to<br />

forward the case to the SEIAA, with the recommendation to grant<br />

environmental clearance to the project proponent subject to the following<br />

conditions, in addition to the proposed measures for establishment of a<br />

residential colony in area measuring as 40426.772 sq. m at Village<br />

Jhammat, Opp. Sidhwan Canal, District Ludhiana.<br />

PART A – Specific conditions<br />

I. Construction Phase<br />

i) “Consent to establish” shall be obtained from Punjab Pollution Control<br />

Board under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water<br />

(Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and a copy of the same shall<br />

be submitted to the Ministry of <strong>Environment</strong> & Forests / <strong>State</strong> <strong>Level</strong><br />

<strong>Environment</strong> <strong>Impact</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong> <strong>Authority</strong> before the start of any<br />

construction work at site.<br />

All required sanitary and hygienic measures should be in place before<br />

starting construction activities and to be maintained throughout the<br />

construction phase.<br />

A first aid room will be provided in the project both during construction and<br />

operation phase of the project.<br />

Adequate drinking water and sanitary facilities should be provided for<br />

construction workers at the site. The disposal of wastewater and solid<br />

wastes generated during the construction phase should be in<br />

environmentally sound manner.<br />

v) Provision should be made for the supply of fuel (kerosene or cooking gas),<br />

utensils such as pressure cookers etc. to the laborers during construction<br />

phase.<br />
