Wheels and tyres<br />
Non skid chains : (If required)<br />
Non skid chains are used on tyre to<br />
get better traction and drivability in<br />
snow or marshy area.<br />
Fitment procedure of these chains on<br />
tyre is given below :<br />
1) Check for proper pressure in tyres.<br />
1) Lay down the chains (longitudinally)<br />
on level floor<br />
2) Drive the vehicle on laid chains<br />
3) Wrap the chains on tyre.<br />
4) Adjust the chain locking<br />
5) Clamp the toggle clamp<br />
6) Ensure tight fitment of chains<br />
7) Run for one or two Kms.<br />
8) Adjust the chain locking.<br />
NOTE : Tyre pressure to be maintained<br />
before fitment of nonskid<br />
chains on tyres<br />
Tyre rotation<br />
Tyre rotation is recommended for<br />
achieving identical wear on each tyre.<br />
It is also advisable to change rotating<br />
direction to relieve tyres of continual<br />
one way rotation. Regular rotation of<br />
tyres also will prevent abnormal wear.<br />
The sketch indicates a suggested<br />
sequence of tyre rotation Rotate tyres<br />
at specified intervals or earlier<br />
depending on operation.<br />
