Wallace calls the Embassy Act Ill's flagship theatre and he concedes that it represents something special to the circuit, but he blanches noticeably when it is suggested that perhaps the Embassy is an extravagant, one-shot affair that will not be duplicated elsewhere. "I don't think that a flagship theatre is necessarily a one-time-only kind of thing," Wallace says. "The Embassy is a flagship in that we're very proud of it. But at the same time, we hope that our new theatres will take us even further down the learning curve in terms of trying to improve physical design. "If anything, the Embassy is the base upon which we're trying to build even bigger and better theatres. It's not that we went crazy and shot the works on the Embassy just because San Antonio is our headquarters. To me, it was our opportunity to buUd something exciting and big, and to create something that can be used as a base to bmld upon. 1 think that future theatres that we build, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, will take the next logical step beyond the Embassy.
