ONGOING
• The Webster Fire Department has acquired
a grant to assist the seniors in the community
with updating smoke detectors and carbon
monoxide detectors in their homes. With the
economy as it stands we understand everyone is
having financial difficulties but we feel home
safety should not be compromised. In an effort
to keep the citizens of our community safe the
Webster Fire Department has dedicated the
grant money for this purpose. This program is
provided at no cost to the seniors in the Town of
Webster. It would involve uniformed firemen
with a valid ID coming into your home and
mounting the detectors in the correct locations.
Anyone who feels that this program would be a
benefit to them should contact the Fire
Department Monday through Friday at 508-949-
3875 or a sign up sheet will be available at the
local senior center on School Street.
• Income Tax Preparation available through
an AARP program. Call the center for an
appointment. Circuit Breaker forms also prepared.
• Fuel Assistance (WCAC) — call Worcester at
508-754-1176, ext. 110 for an appointment.
Meals are open to anyone 60 years and up, provided
through the Older American Act for a nominal
amount. The senior center has walkers,
canes, bath chairs, commodes and wheelchairs
for people to use.
