NEW COMPETENCES : : EDUCATIONAL AIM
My desire to sharpen and improve my restorative skills
and strengthen my awareness and capacity for reflection
and analysis of value was the reason why I applied for
NORDMAK.
NORDMAK develops and communicates skills,
that in the broadest sense qualify the management
of the architectural heritage and
cultural environment in the Nordic region,
both public and private, with a view to secure
and optimize the future.
NORDMAK aims to support the creation of
an inter-Nordic cooperative project and create
an expert network of professionals in the
Nordic region within the same platform.
The course strengthens public administrations,
consulting businesses and major contractors
by educating employees who, based
on the latest knowledge and the latest theories
in the field, can improve practice in the
management of the architectural heritage
and the cultural environment.
A Nordic Master in Architectural Heritage
strengthens architects and others who deal
professionally with or have an interest in
the conservation of architectural heritage
and cultural environment, to managerial
handle the overall process management of
a large and complex process.
Studying at NORDMAK provides a good opportunity
for the student to relate the study
to his or her daily work.
As co-owner of Erik Møller´s Practice and
project manager on a number of restorations
of some of the finest houses in Denmark,
I have seen a growing demand for the
restorative architect; both for the professional,
communicative and managerial skills.
My skills in that direction have been
strengthened through NORDMAK. And at
the same time, I have gained new relations
on an inter-Nordic level.
