SEMESTER SPECIFICATIONS<br />

1st semester:<br />

Common Understanding (Denmark)<br />

Enrollment period: September 1st 2009 to<br />

January 31st 2010 (15 ECTS credits)<br />

The aim of the semester is to create a<br />

common realm of understanding around<br />

the Nordic architectural heritage. It sets<br />

out with a presentation of participants,<br />

background and intentions of the Master<br />

course.<br />

The semester consists of 4 modules:<br />

• Theory, philosophy and history of the<br />

cultural environment and architectural<br />

heritage<br />

• Administration and policy of the<br />

cultural environment and architectural<br />

heritage<br />

• Market and Economy<br />

• Leadership and communication<br />

2nd semester:<br />

Investigation and Documentation (Norway)<br />

Enrollment period: February 1st 2010 to<br />

August 31st 2010 (15 ECTS credits)<br />

During the second semester we will<br />

be working with investigation and<br />

documentation. In any observation of<br />

architectural circumstances and historical<br />

building surveys, intentional stated<br />

interpretations are included which appears<br />

in the documentation. The training will<br />

give the candidates a critical awareness<br />

of the relationship between object and<br />

interpretation.<br />

The semester consists of 4 modules with the<br />

titles :<br />

• Surveys<br />

• Documentation forms and methods<br />

• Nordic technique and material studies<br />

• Personal development<br />

Furthermore, a study trip is arranged in<br />

each semester week in relation to the<br />

themes of the semester.
