5.2 METHODOLOGY FOR TECHNICAL STUDY
Following captive power plants were selected jointly by CSERC and CSEB for detailed study:

It was jointly decided to carry out measurement at the point of common coupling with
(a) Grid interconnection( parallel operating condition)
(b) Without grid interconnection (Islanding operating condition)
But ERDA was not granted permission for measurements in islanding mode as the CPPs
expressed their inability to run in isolated mode. Hence, ERDA has carried out the
measurements at following two locations as jointly decided -
(1) Point of common coupling, and
(2) Generator output terminals.
ERDA has carried out measurements for 24 hours at above mentioned locations for the
selected CPPs. Technical report of the results of the measurements has been submitted to the
Commission. The highlights of the study results observed from measurements and power
system studies are given in clause 5.3.
ERDA has also collected required data for power system studies from the transmission division
of CSEB for carrying out the load flow and fault level calculation.
