It continued to pair manned and unmanned aircraft for lethal<br />
effects – targeting insurgent group members, their weapons, and<br />
their caches. The CAB also supported Information <strong>Operations</strong><br />
by dropping leaflets and provided support to wounded Soldiers<br />
by conducting on call assistance in the form of MEDEVAC.<br />
The 1-10 FA, conducted seven named operations: "Montgomery,"<br />
"Westmoreland," "Taylor," "Wheeler," "Abrams 1 and 2,"<br />
and "Hal Moore." By November 15th, when Marne Anvil came<br />
to an end, the effects on the enemy included the capture of 65<br />
detainees, seven IEDs found and cleared, four caches found,<br />
and 1,247 persons entered into the BATs database. Additionally,<br />
Sledgehammer established Combat Outpost Salie in the<br />
heart of Narhwan.<br />
Baghdad was now safer and the local population felt more secure.<br />
Conditions were right for economic and social improvements<br />
that were long dreamed of, but always just out of reach<br />
until the arrival of the Sledgehammer Brigade.
