had enjoyed Latin albums<br />
like the successful "Mi<br />
Tierra" 1993 and "Gloria",<br />
the dance album of 1998.<br />
Gloria Estefan: Since my<br />
childhood I dreamed about<br />
making an album like "The<br />
Standards". I most wanted<br />
to do this job right now and<br />
with it, I fulfill a dream<br />
which I have had for many<br />
years.<br />
This is the right moment to<br />
make it because it is<br />
important to have enough<br />
life experience so that you<br />
really can express what<br />
you want to note to every<br />
recorded song on this<br />
album. On this album I<br />
collected classics that, in<br />
one way or another, have<br />
had a special meaning in<br />
their life.
