As per the increase in VAT rates 4% to 5% and 12.5% to 13.5% announced in the Jammu &<br />

Kashmir Budget 2010-11 highlights, the following VAT/Tax classifications are provided effective<br />

from April 1, 2010:<br />

•Purchases @ 5%<br />

•Purchases @ 13.5%<br />

•Purchases - Capital Goods @ 5%<br />

•Purchases - Capital Goods @ 13.5%<br />

•Input VAT @ 5%<br />

•Input VAT @ 13.5%<br />

•Sales @ 5%<br />

•Sales @ 13.5%<br />

•Output VAT @ 5%<br />

•Output VAT @ 13.5%<br />

•Purchase Tax @ 5%<br />

•Purchase Tax @ 13.5%<br />

The value of entries made using the aforesaid classifications will be currently captured only in<br />

VAT Computation report.<br />

Note: In the forthcoming <strong>Stat.900</strong> releases, the functionality will be enhanced to capture the<br />

value of entries made using VAT/Tax class provided for 5% and 13.5% rate in VAT Forms.<br />

The party TIN was not being captured in Form VAT - 48 when the purchase entries were<br />

recorded in voucher mode.<br />

On recording entries using the VAT/Tax classes - Exempt Purchases and Purchases - Taxable<br />

Goods (Composition) in separate invoices, the values were not being captured in<br />

Form VAT 12.<br />

Enhancements<br />

In Form VAT 11, the value of journal entry made using the VAT Adjustment - Input Tax<br />

Adjustment for Purchase From URDs will be captured in box 32.<br />

In Form VAT 11, the value of journal entry made using the VAT Adjustment - Partial Rebating<br />

(Box 30) will be captured in box 30.<br />
