What’s Happening in the Units!
Mocha Love Bugs
Another year has passed and here we are
in 2010 already. Once again we enjoyed a
successful year selling the “Christmas
Goodies” and promoting Shrinedom.
Sincere thanks to all Love Bug members
for their help at Elgin Mall and especially
to Harold Fowler for his excellent
organizing skills at the Mall. He has been
doing this for our unit for approximately 20 years now
and we thank him for his dedication. Herb Coleman
once again was the “Super Salesman” of the unit. We
don't know how he does it but he is tops in Cake sales
once again. Mark Walker stores and delivers the cakes
as well as keeps our “Bugs” in fine running order. Doug
Walker does an excellent job organizing and obtaining
Parades. Roy Pickard is our excellent secretary.
President Harry Hewbank guided us through another
successful year of parades and events and chaired our
wonderful Christmas Party held in conjunction with the
Clown Unit in St. Thomas. He has passed the
President's gavel to Ross Crawford for this coming
year. We pledge our support to Ross. I know we will
continue to enjoy the fun and fellowship of this fine
unit.
We were all saddened at the passing of a long time and
devoted member, Ed Banghart of St. Thomas. Our
thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
Regular monthly breakfast meetings are held on the
first Saturday of every month, except January and
February, at the New Sarum Diner where else but in
downtown New Sarum. If you are interested in
becoming a member or just want to find out more about
us please contact Ross Crawford (President) at
519-425-1966 or Roy Pickard (Secretary) at 519-773-
Concert Band
Four members of Mocha's Concert Band played carols
at London's Childrens' Hospital Christmas morning
while our Shrine Santa delivered his gifts to the children.
The Olympic torch along with members of the
Olympic committee were also present for the children
to see and enjoy.
