- Remove the engine control unit ⇒ page 23-88.

- Check the wires between plug -A- and socket -B- of the engine control
unit for breaks using the CFD
Wire resistance: max. 1.5 Ω

- Also check the wires for short circuits to each other, to the vehicle
earth and to the battery positive.

If no faults are determined in the wiring:
- Replace the control unit for diesel direct injection system (J248)
⇒ page 23-88.
Checking the Quantity Adjuster (N146)
- Press the → -button.
- Press keys 0 and 6 for ”End data transfer” function and acknowledge
entry with Q key.
- Switch off the ignition.
