How to use this <strong>Handbook</strong><br />

The <strong>Swinburne</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong>s, TAFE and <strong>Higher</strong> EdUcation, are complete references for<br />

prospective and current students to the University's academic programs and<br />

structures,<br />

This <strong>Handbook</strong> is ordered into four main areas: general <strong>Swinburne</strong> information;<br />

undergraduate course information; postgraduate course information and subject<br />

details.<br />

To locate a specific course, consult the main contents page, opposita, and identify<br />

the course title and page reference you require. An alphabetical index exists at the<br />

back of the <strong>Handbook</strong>for quick reference. All subject details for all courses are<br />

contained in the final chapter in alphanumeric order.<br />

General Information<br />

All general information about <strong>Swinburne</strong> services, facilities and administration is<br />

listed in the first chapter.<br />

Course descriptions<br />

Courses are listed in alphabetical orderwithin subject area. Each course description<br />

outlines a course structure which includes a list of required subjects.<br />

All subjects or modules may be found in the final chapter olthe <strong>Handbook</strong>. All<br />

subjects are allocated a code and are listed in this order. The code is made up letters<br />

The <strong>Higher</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong> is published each year. Students should carefully read<br />
