Of Interest<br />
As we all know, the Bi-Centennial<br />
Year for the celebrati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the creati<strong>on</strong><br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the U.S. Rectangular Survey<br />
System is up<strong>on</strong> us.<br />
To commemorate that event, a<br />
group <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> cadastral surveyors is<br />
privately producing a h<strong>and</strong>some<br />
commemorative belt buckle. It is<br />
our feehng that this project will<br />
have the wide appeal to surveyors<br />
everywhere.<br />
Our society has no financial in-<br />
terest in this venture but we do c<strong>on</strong>sider<br />
it a very worthy effort <strong>and</strong><br />
worth supporting.<br />
The buckles will be cast <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> so<br />
pewter, serially numbered in «<br />
strictly limited editi<strong>on</strong> <strong>and</strong> will be<br />
available for the very modest price<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> $10 (postpaid).<br />
Since a single producti<strong>on</strong> run is<br />
planned, it is important that a<br />
reas<strong>on</strong>able count <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> those interested<br />
be made as so<strong>on</strong> as possible.<br />
