THE CATHEDRAL COLLEGE ROCKHAMPTON
COLLEGE COMMUNICATION
COLLEGE INFORMATION
The College provides a number of methods of communication to students and parents/care givers. It is very
important that parents/care givers and students actively participate in the communication by listening to and/or
reading the communications from the College.
THE CHRONICLE
The Chronicle is the College’s official newsletter and is available for viewing at 3pm each Wednesday afternoon of
term on the College’s website www.tccr.com.au under News & Events. Families may request a hard copy if preferred
or an email notification through the College’s front office by phoning on 4999 1300.
DAILY NOTICES
Each morning a bulletin, which includes all important College notices, is read to the students in each Pastoral Care
Group. Students may place important notices in the bulletin if they are approved by a member of the College
Leadership Team.
ASSEMBLY
College Assemblies alternate weekly with House Assemblies. At College Assemblies, members of the College staff
address the students on important College issues. Occasionally, members of the wider community use the College
Assembly to address the students and the staff.
CALENDAR
Each family receives a copy of the College Calendar at the beginning of the year so that all are familiar with
important College dates.
OTHER METHODS OF COMMUNICATION
If parents/care givers have any enquiries, they can use any of the following methods of communication:
1. a brief note in the Student Planner for the Subject or Pastoral Care Group teacher
2. a longer note to any staff member
3. a message requesting a staff member to return your call
Parents/care givers may ring the College, but it is often difficult to locate staff as they are usually teaching and
cannot leave the classroom. It is more convenient to leave a message for a staff member to return your call.
4. arrange for an interview
If parents/care givers wish to have an interview with a staff member, it is best to send a message to the staff
member indicating the available times.
