John 16: 12-15
“For God so loved the world that he
gave his only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him may not perish but may
have eternal life. “Indeed, God did not
send the Son into the world to condemn
the world, but in order that the world
might be saved through him. Those
who believe in him are not condemned;
but those who do not believe are
condemned already, because they have
not believed in the name of the only Son
of God.
Reflection
Jesus ‘saves’ the world by giving us
the opportunity to ‘tune-in’ and believe
in a different kind of way. We are not
following a list of do’s and don’ts. We
believe in our hearts and this drives our
action and behaviour to compassion
and respect. If people all over the earth
believed and acted in such a way,
wouldn’t the world be saved from much
sadness? Wherever we believe, and
feel and behave accordingly, Jesus is
present, offering salvation.
Prayer
Lord, ‘let me be an instrument of your
peace’. Help me to feel and act towards
others with the love and respect of
Jesus’ teachings, so that we may be
brought closer to your presence.
