Christmasworld 2014 can now satisfy visitor wishes even 

better than before. Director Eva Olbrich wants you to have 

an inspiring trade fair tour. 

Frau Olbrich, wo liegen die Vorteile der neuen Hallenstruktur? 

Die Laufwege werden kürzer und die Orientierung leichter. Gleichzeitig 

werten wir das Produktangebot in den Hallen auf. Davon profitieren 

die Besucher und die Aussteller. 

Was darf man sich von der Premiere des neuen Awards 

„Decoration Star“ versprechen? 

Wir möchten damit den Innovationsgeist der Deko-Branche sichtbarer 

machen – bezogen auf Produkte und Dienstleistungsideen, die 

erfolgreich im Markt eingeführt wurden. Dabei interessiert uns, was 

den Kunden überzeugt. Diesen Ansatz möchten wir in den nächsten 

Jahren weiterverfolgen. Schließlich tun sich Neuerungen manchmal 

schwer, bis sie als Impulsgeber fest im Markt etabliert sind. 

Großflächen- und Schaufensterdekorationen als Erfolgsfaktor 

für den Handel: Was erwartet die Besucher? 

Zum einen bietet unsere Trendschau Anregungen für die effektvolle 

Produktinszenierung. Zum anderen zeigt die Sonderschau Newstalgia, 

wie Schaufenster-, Laden- und Großflächendekorationen zum Staunen 

bringen – und zum Entdecken einladen. Auch bieten wir mit dem 

Signet „Concept Decorations“ einen praktischen Wegweiser zu den 

Anbietern von kompletten Dekorationskonzepten. Die viel zitierte 

„Win-Win-Situation“ für Aussteller und Besucher haben wir stets im 

Hinterkopf. 

Wo liegt im umfassenden Rahmenprogramm der Mehrwert für 

die Besucher? 

Wir setzen gleichermaßen auf Inspiration, Information und Business. 

Uns ist es wichtig, dass sich jeder aus den breit gefächerten Angeboten 

seine Highlights heraussuchen kann – und so mit frischen Ideen, 

den neuesten Trends und Produkten sowie wertvollen Kontakten in 

das Geschäftsjahr startet. Deshalb gibt es im Christmasworld Forum 

nun an jedem Tag passende Angebote zu Branchenthemen für jede 

Zielgruppe und die Webchance Academy für das Thema der Zukunft: 

„Erfolgreich werben und verkaufen im Internet“. 

Ms Olbrich, what are the benefits of the new halls structure? 

The routes are getting shorter and orientation is getting easier. At the 

same time we are also enhancing the product offering in the halls. 

Both visitors and exhibitors will benefit from this. 

What can we expect from the premiere of the new “Decoration 

Star” Award? 

We want to make the innovative spirit of the decoration industry more 

visible with this award – with regard to products and service ideas 

that have been successfully introduced to the market. We are really 

interested here in what impresses the customer. We want to pursue 

this approach even further in the next few years. At the end of the day, 

sometimes innovations have a hard time before they become firmly 

established on the market. 

Large area and display window decorations as a success factor 

for the retail trade – what awaits the visitor? 

On one hand our trend show offers suggestions for effective product 

staging. On the other hand the Newstalgia special show demonstrates 

how display window, shop and large area decorations can stop and 

astound – and invite people to come in and discover. And with the 

“Concept Decorations” signet we are also offering a practical pointer 

to providers of complete decoration concepts. We always keep in mind 

the constantly-quoted “win-win situation” for exhibitors and visitors. 

Where is the added value for visitors in the extensive framework 

programme? 

We focus in equal measure on inspiration, information and business. 

It is important for us that everyone should be able to search out their 

highlights from the widely diversified offers – and consequently get 

started in the new business year with fresh ideas, the latest trends 

and products and valuable contacts. The Christmasworld Forum therefore 

now includes offers on industry topics, suitable for every day for 

every target group, and the Webchance Academy for the topic of the 

future: “Successfully Advertise and Sell on the Internet”.

Hellum kombiniert in der aktuellen Kollektion stromsparende

Sonderschau „Newstalgia“ zu Schaufenster-, Laden- und Großflächendekorationen. 

Ein prachtvolles elf Meter in die Höhe ragendes 

Schloss und eine kunstvoll nostalgisch anmutende Weihnachtsfabrik 

bieten diesmal eine gigantische Kulisse für die Präsentation von 

Advents- und Weihnachtsdekorationen. Dafür zog die Schau diesmal 

sogar an einen neuen Standort um. Erstmalig präsentieren die beiden 

niederländischen Ausnahme-Designer Rudi Tuinman und Pascal Koeleman 

von 2dezign ihr atemberaubendes Spektakel in der Galleria 1. 

Ihre Idee, über die Darstellung erzählter Geschichten neue Konzepte 

für den Handel zu entwickeln, setzen sie mit nostalgischem Flair und 

einem überwältigen Arrangement aus echten und künstlichen Blumen 

um. Nostalgisch, ja, aber größer, beeindruckender und innovativer 

als je zuvor. Ein optisches Abenteuer, das man erlebt haben 

muss. 

With a brilliantly staged fairytale world, the “Newstalgia” special 

show provides inspiration for display windows, shops and large 

area decorations. This time round, a splendiferous eleven metres 

high castle and an artistically nostalgic Christmas factory provide 

a gigantic stage for presenting Advent and Christmas decorations. 

The show even moved this time to a new location for this. For the 

first time, the two exceptional Dutch designers, Rudi Tuinman and 

Pascal Koeleman from 2design present their breathtaking spectacle 

in Galleria 1. They realize their idea to develop new concepts 

for the retail trade by presenting related stories with nostalgic 

flair and an overwhelming arrangement of real and artificial 

flowers. Nostalgic, yes, but also bigger, more impressive and 

more innovative than ever before. An optical adventure that 

you just have to experience.

Erstmalig wird auf der Christmasworld ein 

Innovationspreis für Dekoration und Festschmuck 

verliehen. Der „Decoration Star“ der Messe Frankfurt und 

der Fachzeitschrift P&G aus dem bit-Verlag prämiert Design, Komplexität, 

Ergonomie, besondere Leistungen und Umweltverträglichkeit. 

In den Kategorien Weihnachtsartikel, saisonale Dekoration und 

Geschenkartikel sowie Verkaufsförderung und PoS-Maßnahmen wird 

er Produkte von Ausstellern auszeichnen. Einen Überblick über alle 

Einreichungen bieten die Sonderausstellung und eine zweisprachige 

Dokumentation.

Award-winning:

For the first time at Christmasworld, an innovation 

award will be presented for decoration and holiday 

decorations. The “Decoration Star” from Messe 

Frankfurt and P&G magazine from the bit publishing 

house accolades design, complexity, ergonomics, special performances 

and environmental friendliness. 

It will be presented to exhibitor products in the categories: festive 

season articles, seasonal decorations and gift ideas and sales promotion 

and PoS activities. The special exhibition and bilingual documentation 

will provide an overview of all submissions.

Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs 

Alljährlich lässt die Pariser Charity-Aktion Weihnachtsbäume von namhaften 

Designern schmücken und versteigert sie für einen guten Zweck. Bereits zum 

dritten Mal geht eins der wertvollen Unikate an die Christmasworld. Diesmal ist 

es die Kreation von Modeschöpferin Stella McCartney, die unter den Fachbesuchern 

verlost wird. Man darf gespannt sein auf ihren Entwurf, mit dem sich die 

Christmasworld als Sponsor und Partner der wohltätigen Auktion engagiert. 

Die Erlöse gehen an die Krebsforschungsstiftung Fondation AVEC. 

Every year the Parisian charity raiser has Christmas trees decorated by renowned 

designers and auctions them for a good cause. For the third time already, one of 

the valuable unica will go to Christmasworld. This year it is the creation of fashion 

designer Stella McCartney that will be auctioned among the specialist visitors. Her 

design, with which Christmasworld commits itself to the charity auction as sponsor 

and partner, is awaited with baited breath. The proceeds will go to the AVEC cancer 

research foundation.

Schon zum zweiten Mal sind die Gartencenter im deutschsprachigen 

Raum und den Niederlanden zum Wettbewerb 

um die schönste Weihnachts dekoration aufgerufen. Neu in 

diesem Jahr: Über die Internetseite www.weihnachtlichergartenmarkt.de 

konnten die Kunden für ihre Lieblingsdekoration 

online abstimmen. Bei der Endauswertung zählt dann auch das Votum 

der Fach jury. Preisverleihung für die Niederlande: Freitag, 24. Januar, 

16:30 Uhr, Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz: Sonntag, 26. Januar, 16:30 Uhr.

For the second time already, garden centres in the German-speaking area and 

the Netherlands will be called on to do battle for the most beautiful festive 

decorations. New this year: Customers can vote for their favourite decorations

decorates übernommen – und seitdem viel Neues auf die 

Beine gestellt. Dazu ein Interview mit Götz Rittner: 

Four years ago Manuela and Götz Rittner took over 

the Reinhold decorates company in accordance 

with its succession plan. Here’s an interview with 

Götz Rittner: 

Herr Rittner, wie stellt sich „The new 

Reinhold“ dar? 

Wir haben in einem schwierigen Umfeld an 

allen wichtigen Bereichen gearbeitet – den 

Auftritt des Unternehmens modernisiert, 

das Sortiment erweitert, Arbeitsprozesse, 

Außendienst und Logistik optimiert und sind 

sehr viel effizienter geworden. 

Welche neuen Sortimentsbereiche gibt 

es? 

Wir führen inzwischen auch große Artikel wie 

Outdoorfiguren, Paravents, Möbel und Deko- 

Bäume. Fast 1000 Gartenartikel, sehr viele mit 

LED-Beleuchtung, und zudem haben wir neue 

Länder wie Sri Lanka erschlossen, über die 

wir nachhaltige Fair-Trade-Produkte beziehen, 

die ganz neue Stimmungen erzeugen. 

Wie inspirieren Sie Ihre Kunden? 

Die Erweiterung unseres Angebots von floristischen 

Artikeln hin zu Wohnaccessoires zu 

harmonisch aufeinander abgestimmten 

Designthemen helfen unseren Kunden, in 

ihren Geschäften auch eigene Ideen neu 

umzusetzen und diese auch gut zu verkaufen. 

Welche Rückmeldung bekommen Sie auf 

die Neuerungen? 

Insgesamt sehr positive. Die höhere Wertigkeit 

unseres Sortiments erschließt auch neue 

Kundenkreise. Die, die uns schon kennen, sind 

manchmal überrascht, wissen aber, dass sich 

an unseren Grundwerten Vertrauen und Verlässlichkeit 

nichts geändert hat. Unsere Präsenz 

auf den wichtigsten internationalen 

Messen wirkt hier sehr überzeugend. 

Welche Vision haben Sie? 

Was die Deko-Branche angeht, wird vieles 

farbenfroher und poppiger werden. Materialmixe 

nehmen zu. Zudem glaube ich, dass 

Dekoration bezahlbar bleiben muss und setze 

für uns auf ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. 

Die Globalisierung des Handels verändert 

viel. Dafür sind wir gut aufgestellt, in unseren 

Vertriebswegen und der produktiven Effizienz – 

die sich für unsere Kunden auszahlt. 

Mr Rittner, how is the “new Reinhold” 

presenting itself? 

We have worked in all important areas in a 

difficult environment – modernised the company’s 

presence, extended the range, optimised 

work processes, field service and 

logistics and become much more efficient. 

What new product ranges are there? 

We now also provide large items such as 

outdoor figures, screens, furniture and deco 

trees. Almost 1,000 garden products, very 

many with LED lighting, and we have also 

opened up new countries, such as Sri Lanka, 

via which we purchase fair trade products, 

which produce entirely new atmospheres. 

How do you inspire your customers? 

The extension of our offering of florist articles, 

through to living accessories and harmoniously 

coordinated design themes help 

our customers to also re-implement their 

own ideas in their business and also sell 

these well. 

What feedback do you get on your new 

additions? 

On the whole it’s very positive. The higher 

quality rating of our range also opens up 

new customer groups. Those that already 

know us are sometimes surprised, but they 

know that nothing has changed with our 

basic values of trust and reliability. Our presence 

at the most important international 

trade fairs has a very convincing effect here. 

How do you see the future? 

With regard to the decoration industry, a lot 

will become much more colouful and trendy. 

Material mixes will increase. And I also 

believe decoration must remain affordable, 

and we will focus on a good price-performance 

ratio. The globalisation of the trade 

changes a lot. We are well positioned for 

this, in our sales channels and productive 

efficiency, which of course, pays off for the 

customer.

flannel and tweed, which produce a wonderful autumn image in the 

interplay with braiding, moss and even forest animals.
