Workers compensation
This year, Country Energy’s focus has been on facilitating early and
appropriate return to work by reinforcing the processes to be followed
by injured employees and their supervisors when a workplace injury
occurs. The Workers Compensation Team visited the majority of Country
Energy worksites across New South Wales to promote understanding
of how workers compensation supports employees following an injury,
and ensure that injury management information is up to date, relevant
and accessible.
In three of the four target areas set by WorkCover – Injury Management
(absences), Cost of Claims, and Injury Management (suitable duties) –
Country Energy is meeting or exceeding set targets. In one area – Injury
Prevention – we were 0.3 per cent off meeting the set target.
Powerful Health
Country Energy’s worksite health promotion program, Powerful Health,
has now been running successfully for four years. During 2007–08,
Country Energy employees took part in a range of Powerful Health
programs including:
health initiatives for their co-workers
a health activity or equipment
in sports/health activity
their teams competed to improve their lifestyle choices.
