<strong>2014</strong> <strong>Nebraska</strong> <strong>Nurses</strong> <strong>Association</strong><br />
out to each other. We are in the midst <strong>of</strong> the “storm” but IF we can meet membership goals and<br />
sustain our momentum to improve efficiency and effectiveness, the clouds will lift to a bright future<br />
for the voice <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional nursing in <strong>Nebraska</strong>. We thank our dedicated affiliates – the <strong>Nebraska</strong><br />
Nurse Practitioners and Emergency <strong>Nurses</strong> <strong>Association</strong> – <strong>Nebraska</strong> for partnering with us and we<br />
invite others to join us.<br />
2015 President Goals:<br />
1. Continue the development <strong>of</strong> the 3-year financial plan, including the consolidation <strong>of</strong> accounts<br />
to fewer banks, exploration <strong>of</strong> NNF opportunities, and possible return <strong>of</strong> operational support<br />
to within the state.<br />
2. Implement the recommendations <strong>of</strong> the Governance Task Force (District Pilot) as approved,<br />
monitor measures <strong>of</strong> success, and prepare a report and bylaws revisions to the House <strong>of</strong><br />
Delegates.<br />
3. Enhance grassroots membership recruitment and retention support and meet annual<br />
member recruitment goals.<br />
4. Develop a leadership development and succession planning process to prepare future<br />
leaders for the NNA Board <strong>of</strong> Directors and Committees.<br />
5. Identify member preferences for pr<strong>of</strong>essional development and balance onsite regional<br />
events with virtual concurrent events.<br />
6. Seat and implement a Task Force to define a model for Mutual Interest Groups, develop<br />
a recommendation and/or bylaws for inclusion <strong>of</strong> this structure in the NNA governance<br />
structure.<br />
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT<br />

The past two years have seen many positive changes for the <strong>Nebraska</strong> <strong>Nurses</strong> <strong>Association</strong>. It has<br />
been a pleasure to work with Terry, the Board, and the Committees to see these positive changes<br />
come to fruition. Thank you to all <strong>of</strong> the members <strong>of</strong> NNA for your support and lately your thoughts<br />
and prayers. I am getting stronger day-by-day.<br />
SECRETARY’S REPORT<br />

The NNA Board <strong>of</strong> Directors met monthly with the exception <strong>of</strong> December and April, which were<br />
canceled due to scheduling conflicts and no pressing business. Among the approved motions<br />
considered by the Board were the following items:<br />
