Qualification Code Admission requirements NQF Credits<br />

Master of Visual Arts 98573 An appropriate Bachelor of Honours Degree, or an appropriate Postgraduate<br />

Diploma, or a 480 credit Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 96 credits at<br />

NQF level 8 in Visual Arts with an average of 60%. A student who is admitted<br />

on the strength of a Postgraduate Diploma or a 480 credit Bachelor's Degree<br />

with a minimum of 96 credits at level 8 <strong>and</strong> who has not completed a<br />

module in research methodology may be required to complete such a module<br />

(HRHMV81) at NQF level 8 for NDP before he/she will be allowed to register<br />

for the module in research methodology of which the outcome is the research<br />

proposal. Applicants must submit a digitised portfolio (in the form of slides, CD<br />

or DVD) of their practical art making. Applicants may contact the Department<br />

directly with regards to the selection criteria. International students must meet<br />

the English language requirement as provided for in paragraph 2.1 of the<br />

Procedures for Studies for Master's <strong>and</strong> Doctoral Degrees.<br />
