Master of Arts in Criminology 98606 An appropriate Bachelor Honours Degree, or an appropriate<br />

Postgraduate Diploma, or a 480 credit Bachelor's Degree with a<br />

minimum of 96 credits at NQF level 8 in Criminology. A student who<br />

is admitted on the strength of a Postgraduate Diploma or a 480 credit<br />

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 96 credits at level 8 <strong>and</strong> who has<br />

not completed a module in research methodology may be required to<br />

complete such a module at NQF level 8 for NDP before he/she will be<br />

allowed to register for the module in research methodology of which the<br />

outcome is the research proposal. International students must meet the<br />

English language requirement as provided for in paragraph 2.1 of the<br />

Procedures for Studies for Master's <strong>and</strong> Doctoral Degrees.<br />

8. For 1-3: If the c<strong>and</strong>idate has not passed a research module on NQF<br />

level 8, he/she must register for <strong>and</strong> pass for NDP purposes, the 4th<br />

year LLB research module(NQF 8) before being admitted into the LLM<br />

or 4. A foreign LLB degree of minimum three years duration <strong>and</strong> four<br />

LLB modules selected from the NQF level 8 modules in the LLB degree<br />

of which one must be the compulsory research module or 5. A foreign<br />

LLM or 6. C<strong>and</strong>idates with a BProc or Bachelors Degree may apply<br />

through the RPL process for admission to the LLM. This process must<br />

prove NQF level 8 competence in law <strong>and</strong> research.<br />
