Qo\. Carl K. Sunders ha.s proclaimed
October 8-14 as Georgia Theatre Week,
which will hegin with the Atlanta Critics
Awards banquet and end with the first da>
of the Georgia Theatre Conference in Augusta.
Governor Sanders and Mayor Ivan
Allen jr.. soon will issue proclamations declaring
October National Movie Month,
aligning the city and state with the rest of
the nation in the observance.
Howard Pearl. United Artists Southeastern
field representative, celebrated the
first anniversary of his Southern tenure (he
was transferred from the Detroit territory)
by giving a buffet luncheon party for his
fellow workers in the Atlanta exchange Friday
Sept. 23. "They're a great bunch." Howard
commented, "and they've made me feel
at home, so this is my way of showing my
appreciation." The girls in the exchange
contributed an elegant "first anniversary
cake" for the occasion.
Jerry Rafshoon, former 20th Century-Fox
field representative and now head of his own
advertising agency, which has the Paramount
Pictures account here, has returned from
New York City where he attended a sales
