'Hawaii' Holds LA Lead With 4/5;
'Alfie; 'Bible; 'Music' Also Big
LOS ANGELES—The same lour big
films which have dominated grosses here
for the last month again took all of the top
spots in a week remarkable for spotty business—eight
features actually falling belo.v
100 but 15 others grossing well above average.
Leading all first-run product was
Hawaii," 415 in the sixth week at the
Egyptian. "Alfie" still was doing well with
390 in its fourth week at the Crest: "The
Bible," showing for the seventh week at the
Beverly, grossed 330, and "Sound of Music"
was a phenomenal 310 despite having been
on the Wilshire screen for 90 weeks. Extremely
bad weather, most unusual for this
area, contributed to low grosses at some
theatres which failed to reach 100.

Back From London Talks
HOI I.YWOOD— lr\ing H. Levin, executive
viee-presideni of National General
Corp. and head of motion picture activity,
returned Wednesday (23) from New York
and London.
Levin, who was in Europe for the premiere
of NGP's "The Quiller Memorandum,"
spent two weeks in lA>ndon and
Piiris holding a series of meetings there on
future productions with NGP executives
Mien Martini and Albert Jaeger. He als,i
met with writer-director Paul Gaer, now
preparing NGPs "That Jack VALENTINE!"
lor production in Europe after the first
of the year.
"The Quiller Memorandum" is the first
of National General's pictures lo reach
the screen. George Segal, .Mec Ciuinness.
Max Von Sydow, Senta Berger and George
Sanders star in the Technicolor and Panavision
suspense drama. Twentieth Century-
Fox will distribute in the Weslcrn henvsphere
and Japan, with Rank handling the
Easiern hemisphere distribution.

DENVER—"Georgy Girl," "Alfie" and
"The Professionals" formed the outstanding
trio of high grossers for the week, although
the exact percentage for the latter film w.is
not available, due to it appearing at the
Webber where no precedent has been established
for measuring the gross percentage.
However, "Georgy Girl" was rated at 350
in its debut week at the Vogue Theatre, antl
"Alfie" scored 350 in a third week at the
Steinman Gels Nationwide
'Hallucination' Distribution

the United Stales of "Hallucination Generation,'
