(a) with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with caning<br />
which may extend to twenty lashes; 428 or<br />
(b) if the document is to be produced or delivered up to a court of justice, with<br />
imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with caning which may<br />
extend to thirty lashes or with fine. 429<br />
310. Whoever, being legally bound 430 to give any notice or to furnish information on any<br />
subject to any public servant as such, intentionally omits to give such notice or to furnish<br />
such information in the manner and at the time required by law shall be punished: 431<br />
(a) with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with caning<br />
which may extend to twenty lashes or with fine; 432 or<br />
(b) if the information which he is legally bound to give is in respect of the<br />
commission of an offence or is required for the purpose of preventing the<br />
commission of an offence or in order to arrest an offender, with imprisonment which<br />
may extend to six months or with caning which may extend to thirty lashes or with<br />
fine. 433<br />
311. Whoever, being legally bound 434 to furnish information on any subject to any public<br />
servant as such, furnishes as true information on the subject which he knows or has reason<br />
to believe to be false, shall be punished: 435<br />
(a) with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with caning<br />
which may extend to thirty lashes or with fine; 436<br />
(b) if the information which he is legally bound to give is in respect of the<br />
commission of an offence or is required for the purpose of preventing the<br />
commission of an offence or in order to arrest an offender, with imprisonment for a<br />
