No. 15—CONTROL. Control after
allowance for reaction time.
No. 16—CONTROL. Possible control by
controlling the top leg.
No. 17—ILLEGAL HAMMERLOCK (Above Right Angle). The hammerlock is a legal hold,
provided the arm is not bent above the right angle (that is, provided that the arm is not carried
above the small of the back); and provided, further, that the hand is not forced away from the
body, making it a twisting hammerlock. In this illustration, the arm is carried distinctly above the
right angle and the hold is illegal.
No. 18—ILLEGAL HAMMERLOCK. The
hammerlock is a legal hold, provided the
hand is not forced away from the body. This
illustration shows the hand being pulled away
from the body, making it an illegal twisting
hammerlock.
No. 19—ILLEGAL HAMMERLOCK. The
arm is forced above a right angle and pulled
away from the body; therefore, it is illegal.
