the first new building at the <strong>Oakland</strong> Army Base. It housed the General<br />

Field Office <strong>of</strong> the Army Port Contractors, later serving as an <strong>of</strong>fice annex<br />

to Building 1. This view, dating from May 1942, looks northeast over the<br />

front <strong>of</strong> Building 90 to Building 85 (center) and Building 88 (right), with<br />

the Administration Building (Building 1) and Cafeteria (Building 60) in<br />

the background. The rear extension on the west wing <strong>of</strong> Building 90 (left)<br />

was added in December 1941; it is no longer extant. (<strong>Oakland</strong> Army Base<br />
