Waste Management Program<br />
Kibawe Central School envisions the task of educating the<br />
Filipino child to develop his/her full potentials in a sustainable<br />
<strong>and</strong> eco-friendly environment, thus preparing him/her become<br />
globally competitive individual <strong>and</strong> God-fearing Filipino citizen.<br />
Kibawe Central School provides quality basic education <strong>for</strong> a<br />
life-long learning in a sustainable <strong>and</strong> eco-friendly environment<br />
to develop the school children become functionally literate,<br />
socially, morally responsible <strong>and</strong> productive member of the<br />
society.<br />
<strong>The</strong> school strictly observes the following environmental<br />
policies: cutting of trees are prohibited without permission<br />
from the higher office; replacement of cut trees; physical<br />
cleanliness, orderliness, beautification <strong>and</strong> caring <strong>for</strong> the school<br />
plants should be maintained; waste segregation, composting,<br />
recycling; <strong>and</strong>, prohibition of smoking inside the school<br />
campus.<br />
<strong>The</strong> school has also been recognized, <strong>for</strong> three consecutive<br />
years (2008-2010), as the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran (GPK) Awardee,<br />
<strong>for</strong> being the “Cleanest <strong>and</strong> Greenest Central School” in the Province<br />
of Bukidnon<br />
<strong>The</strong> school has initiated the<br />
availability of the biodegradable <strong>and</strong><br />
non-biodegradable waste bins to<br />
provide an eco-friendly environment<br />
to all schoolchildren. <strong>The</strong> nonbiodegradable<br />
wastes are divided into<br />
four parts namely, cans, cellophanes,<br />
broken bottles <strong>and</strong> plastics. <strong>The</strong><br />
recyclable waste materials coming<br />
from the classrooms are taken to the<br />
Materials Recovery Facility. It is where<br />
the wastes are received, sorted,<br />
processed <strong>and</strong> stored.<br />
Electricity Conservation Program<br />
A certification was made by the School<br />
Principal that the school is using<br />
compact fluorescent lamps <strong>and</strong><br />
energy-saving bulbs in all classrooms.<br />
Signages are visible in every classroom<br />
on electricity conservation. <strong>The</strong>re is<br />
immediate replacement of electric<br />
lamps or repairs by FIBECO Electrician<br />
or the District Utility.<br />
Paper Conservation Program<br />
Pieces of paper are being recycled by<br />
the pupils <strong>and</strong> the teachers into hats<br />
<strong>and</strong> baskets which are being utilized as<br />
livelihood projects.
