Pollution Prevention Program<br />
<strong>The</strong> school protects its environment by<br />
means of air pollution reduction <strong>and</strong><br />
the anti-smoke belching vehicles,<br />
advocating the students not to take<br />
hard drinks because when alcohol<br />
coalesces with high levels of carbon<br />
monoxide caused by toxicair pollutants<br />
or smoking, it will impinge on<br />
judgement more than normal. Pupils<br />
are urged to eat a well-balanced meal<br />
<strong>for</strong> good nutrition helps their body<br />
better h<strong>and</strong>le poisonous substances.<br />
Energy Conservation Program<br />
All classrooms <strong>and</strong> offices use<br />
compact fluorescent lamp instead of<br />
the inc<strong>and</strong>escent lamp. Turning on of<br />
lights only when necessary <strong>and</strong> turning<br />
off after use is directed. Classroom<br />
advisers <strong>and</strong> offices in-charge shall<br />
double check lights, fans <strong>and</strong> other<br />
facilities be<strong>for</strong>e going home in the<br />
afternoon. Unused machines are<br />
unplugged when not in use. Students<br />
are not allowed to charge their cellular<br />
phones in the school.<br />
Based on RA 9003, or the <strong>Eco</strong>logical Solid Waste Management<br />
Act of 2000, through Municipal Ordinance No. 049, Esperanza<br />
<strong>National</strong> High School gave its strong support in sustaining<br />
eco-friendly programmes of the municipality through<br />
implementation of environmental protection <strong>and</strong><br />
management strategies.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Science Department with the Science Club Officers<br />
conceptualized Science Club Restore, Reuse, Recycle Activity<br />
Project or known as (SCR3 AP’Em UP) in School Year<br />
2009-2010 with its Board Resolution No. 01 as an Income<br />
Generating Project.<br />
<strong>The</strong> project aims to encourage every student on the<br />
importance of cleanliness <strong>and</strong> waste segregation starting in<br />
their respective homes. Reusable materials are sold <strong>and</strong> in<br />
return would be used to create enhancement classes to<br />
students who per<strong>for</strong>med low in science subject. This is also<br />
of great help to support students’ investigatory projects <strong>and</strong><br />
help out to sustain the health program in school.<br />
Every grading period, students are required to collect<br />
recyclable trash that will earn a limit of ten pesos (PhP10.00)<br />
only. <strong>The</strong> total amount earned will be deposited at the bank.<br />
Withdrawal should not go beyond the identified allocated<br />
budget.<br />
