Th e Lavrič farm is situated atop a hill, with a view over the valley stretching all
the way to the distant Kamniške Alps and Karavanke Mountains. Th e Lavrič
home was once a gostilna where the gentry used to arrive from Ljubljana and
Kranj in carriages, and today it is a favourite stopping place for people on outings
and on holiday who appreciate good food made from home-grown vegetables,
meat, and dairy products. At the foot of Repenjski hill lies the Repnje monastery
built in 1870 and the church of St. Tilen, which was fi rst mentioned in written
sources in 1476 and contains a Gothic stone statue of the saint. Other places to
visit include Repnje, the birthplace of Jernej Kopitar, author of the fi rst Slovene
grammar book, Smlednik Castle, and Zbilje Lake where rowboats are for hire. Or
you can simply explore the beautiful countryside by bicycle or on foot.
You will fi nd the Petek family's farm in the village of Visoko, from where you can enjoy a
magnifi cent view of Kurešček. Th e table is always full of good things to eat. Th e Peteks will
serve you roast lamb and goat and plenty of other specialities which you can wash down
with a glass of wine or perhaps a glass of excellent goat's milk. Th e hosts are always happy
to welcome families with children and on the hectare of land around the farmhouse you will
fi nd modern outdoor toys and apparatus for the youngest visitors. Children will also enjoy
meeting the sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens and if they are brave enough they can have
a ride on a horse. In summer the Peteks organise children's camps and children's holidays.
Th e farm is also an excellent choice of location for business meetings and social events.
Interesting places to visit in the surrounding area include Iški Vintgar and the lake in Podpeč,
while a day trip to Ljubljana is another option. Walks include the church on Kurešček and
the little medieval church in the village (St Nicholas's), both close at hand, or a longer walk
to Turjak Castle or Mokrc. Winter activities include skiing and tobogganing, while summer
visitors to the farm can play boules, swim in the pool, relax under the hayrack or perhaps
even have a ride on the black horse that lives on one of the neighbouring farms.
If you need to forget the everyday, pack up your troubles, and give yourself a
breath of fresh air, then the Pr' Soud excursion farm is the spot for you. Take a
walk or picnic in still unspoiled nature, go horseback riding, and feast on freshly
made home-baked bread and suckling pig grilled on the spit. Nearby, wander
