Th e Ploder farm is located in the village of Šentanel, which has won the title<br />

of most beautiful small tourist site in Slovenia for several years running. Th e<br />

Kumprejs spoil their guests with homemade dried meat delicacies, dairy<br />

products, all sorts of ciders, brandies, and dried fruit, plum and pear štruklji, and<br />

freshly baked rye bread.<br />

Koroška is fun in summer and in winter. Th e skiing is good, ranging from the<br />

easy slopes of Ravne to the medium diffi cult at Ošven below Mount Uršlja<br />

Gora and the more diffi cult slopes in Črna na Koroškem. Črna also boasts a<br />

mountain biking center. In the spring, summer, and autumn, there are endless<br />

hiking possibilities, you can gather mushrooms in the forests or visit the farming<br />

museum on the Dvornikova Domačija farm, the Koroška Museum in Ravne, the<br />

mining museum in Mežica, and the house where the famous Slovene author<br />

Prežihov Voranc was born.<br />

Th e Marin-Miler Tourist Farm is located in the middle of a village with a beautiful<br />

view of the valley, the cliff s on the north side of Mount Peca, and Mount Uršlja<br />

gora, Mount Raduha, Obir, Podjuna, and the Pohorje mountains.<br />

You will spend the night in a real farmhouse and dine on genuine Koroška<br />

meat specialties in their gostilna (inn). Th e house specialties include lamb and<br />

homemade dried fruit štruklji. You will also be off ered homemade jams and juices<br />

from their orchard.<br />

Surrounded by a fl ock of sheep in the middle of a pasture, the Marin-Millers set up<br />

the “Katarina” tent where they organize parties and performances to liven up the<br />

summer evenings. If you wish, you can also rent the tent for your own celebration.<br />

Guests who want to spend their vacation actively will be happy to hear that the<br />

farm organizes excursions to the “Kingdom of Kralj Matjaž” on Mount Peca,<br />

Snežna jama Cave on Mount Raduha, Potočka Zijalka on Mount Olševa, and to<br />

Ivarčko jezero Lake. Th ey also recommend a visit to the birthplace of the Slovene<br />

writer Prežihov Voranc and a tour of the lead and zinc mine in Mežica.<br />

At an altitude of eight hundred meters in the settlement of Jamnica, guests can enjoy<br />

complete peace in clean air on the “Mikl” Tourist Farm, a typical Koroška farm that is<br />

almost a village in itself. Th e farmhouse is surrounded by outbuildings, around them<br />

spread meadows and cultivated fi elds, and everything is encircled by pine forests.<br />

Th ey farm in a healthy manner that is kind to animals and nature. Th ey also have a<br />

certifi cate for organic farming and processing farm produce.<br />

Two apartments are arranged for guests who can choose to prepare their own meals<br />

or eat with the host family. Th e sixty-square-meter apartments contain a bathroom,<br />

kitchen-living room, and two separate bedrooms (additional beds can be provided)<br />

and are furnished with all the necessities for a comfortable stay (television, bedding,<br />

towels, kitchen utensils and dishes, etc.).<br />

Th e farm has a beehouse and a fi shpond where you can fi sh or skate in winter. In<br />

the yard are a volleyball court and a children’s playground (sandbox, swings, slide).<br />

Guests can also hike in the surrounding area and in the nearby mountains of Peca,<br />

Uršlja gora, and Raduha.<br />

Th e origins of this farm date back to the 18th century. As well as cattle and<br />

pigs, deer and moufl on are farmed here. Th e farm is located in Podklanec near<br />

Dravograd, at the point where three valleys meet: those of the Mežica, the Drava<br />

and the Mislinja.<br />

A feast for game-lovers! Before a tasting of the excellent home-made cured game<br />

delicacies – which takes place in a 150-year-old vaulted cellar – your hosts will<br />

take you on a tourist train ride to visit the pens holding the deer and moufl on,<br />

combining it with a visit to a hunting lodge where a fi ne hunting collection is on<br />

display. Young visitors are always excited about meeting a real live fawn, who is<br />

always ready to play. Excellent cured meat products are available to buy on the<br />

farm.<br />

During a visit to the farm you will learn lots of interesting details about how<br />

cured meat products are made on the farm and about life on the farm in the past<br />

and present. You will also visit the cowshed and see the milking robot, which<br />

does all the work without the need for human presence.<br />
