1940s
Ted Belknap ’47 is now
92 years young and living in
Centerville, Utah. He recently
ran the 40-meter dash in the
Huntsman World Games in St.
George, Utah. … John Turner
’48 will be 92 on Dec. 19,
2013. He still exercises in the
pool and attends First Presbyterian
Church every Sunday. …
Fred Thatcher ’48 has been
in Litchfi eld Park and Prescott,
Arizona, after his military
retirement. He is still trying
to shoot his age at golf and
singing baritone in local choral
groups. … Addison Skaggs
’49 is now 91. About three
years ago he and his wife went
to Mexico City to help a friend
celebrate his company’s 100th
birthday. On the way home, his
wife caught pneumonia and
remained ill until her death in
November 2012.
1950s
Corinne Holm Milton ’50
has stopped teaching at the
California University in Palm
Springs, California, but she is
still giving talks for the Tucson
Museum of Art. … Dan Risley
’50 lives in Springfi eld, Virginia,
and serves as a Republican
Party volunteer. ... Andrew Vais
’52 and Margaret Bergstrom
Vais ’52 live in Sammamish,
Washington, and will celebrate
their 61st wedding anniversary
in 2013. ... Ed Campeau ’53
is retired from IBM and living
in Granville, Ohio. … Roland
Garcia ’53, John Gearhart
’53 and John Calley ’53 have
continued their Thunderbird
camaraderie for more than 60
years. They still play golf whenever
they get together. … Fred
Delkin ’54 is co-owner and
publisher of an online publication,
Oregon Magazine. … Jack
Nedell ’54 is retired and living
in Coronado, California, with his
wife, Gloria. They keep busy enjoying
the beach, playing tennis,
dancing and traveling. … Phil
Sidel ’54 and his wife, Irene,
live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
where Phil has received life
membership in The Explorers
Club of Pittsburgh. He is the
13th member to receive the
award since the club’s founding
in 1947. … Dick Pooler
’55 returned to Thunderbird’s
campus for a tour in 2011. …
Barbara Yunder Bettison ’55
lives in Claremont, California. In
September 2012 her children
organized a special luncheon
for her 80th birthday. … Narce
Caliva ’56 has been a Red
Cross retiree for 24 years. He
currently serves as fi rst vice
commander of the Shenandoah
Valley Chapter of the Korean
War Veterans Association,
which is building its regional
War Memorial in Winchester,
Virginia. … Spencer Berg
’56 and his wife, Phyllis, live
in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
They welcomed their newest
grandson, R. Phillip Trainor,
on Jan. 3, 2013. … Tullio
Vigano ’57 spends winters in
Orange County, California, and
summers near Lago Maggiore
in Italy. … Jim Landolt ’57
lives in rural Lavaca County,
Texas. He works part-time as a
registered nurse after earning
his nursing license at the age

and would enjoying hearing
