The Hong Kong-based
enterprise, which Hinrichs
co-founded in 1970 as Asian
Sources, manages about
65 trade shows annually
in seven locations: Hong
Kong, Dubai, Miami, São
Paulo, Mumbai, Shenzhen
and Johannesburg. The
largest show in Hong Kong
features approximately
9,000 exhibitors and draws
65,000 attendees. Global
Sources also produces online
and print catalogues.
Hinrichs says the company
is much in line with
Thunderbird’s mission of
connecting people globally
through cross-border trade.
“The fundamental glue is
trust between the supplier
and buyer,” he says.
