Communication
Communication architecture
The (COM) communication option is
required for integration of the circuit
breaker or switch-disconnector in a
supervision system.
Masterpact uses Modbus or Jbus
communications protocol for full
compatibility with SMS PowerLogic
(electrical network) management systems.
An external gateway is available for
communication over ethernet networks.
COM communication option
For fixed devices, the COM option comprises of a communication module installed
within the device and supplied by a set of sensors (OF, SDE ,PF and CH microcontacts)
kit for connection to XF and MX communicating voltage releases.
For drawout devices, the COM option comprises of:
c A communication module within in the device and supplied by a set of
auxilliaries (OF, SDE, PF and CH micro-contacts) and/or a kit for connection to
XF and MX communicating voltage releases.
c A communication module installed on the chassis and supplied by a set of
sensors (CE, CD and CT contacts).
Each installed device has an address that is assigned via the keypad of the control
unit (Modbus) or remotely (Batibus). The address of a drawout device is assigned
to the chassis which maintains the same address if the device is replaced.
Status indication by the COM option is independent of the auxiliary indication
contacts. These contacts remain available for conventional uses.
“Device” communication module
This module is independent of the control unit. Installed in the device, behind the
control unit, it receives and transmits information on the communication network.
An infra-red link transmits data between the control unit and the communication
module.
Consumption: 100 mA.
“Chassis” communication module
Installed on the chassis, this module makes it possible to address the chassis and
to maintain the address when the circuit breaker is in the disconnected position.
Consumption: 100 mA.
XF and MX communicating voltage releases
The XF and MX communicating voltage releases are equipped for connection to
the “device” communication module.
The remote-tripping function (second MX or MN) is independent of the
communication option.
